2024/25 Apprenticeship Update

Education News

This year, we are offering 2 intakes to the Embalmer and Funeral Director Apprenticeship Program. The first intake will allow for 25 applicants. A second intake will take place later in the Spring/early Summer dependent on final funding from SkilledTradesBC and allow for a maximum of an additional 15 applicants.

Beginning on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10am PST the Embalmer and Funeral Director Apprenticeship registration link will be available for the first intake. You may begin the pre registration process at that time using our online submission form found on our website (https://bcfunerals.com/careers-and-education/). Once submitted, the form will be date and time stamped. Only the first 25 applications will be accepted. Please note that each apprentice must have their own mentor. A mentor may have a maximum of 2 apprentices, 1 per level. All exceptions must be approved by the BCFA Education Committee and will be based on current student progress.

Our team will reach out to you within 72 hours of your submission to collect the registration fee of $120.75 ($250.00 for non members) and send you a full registration package in July for the student and mentor to complete.

As in the past, there are a limited number of seats available. A waitlist will not be taken for the first intake. We will be finalizing additional funding with SkilledTradesBC before opening the second intake. After the second intake, a waitlist will be established. A foundation program will only be opened if Apprenticeship demand allows.

As we anticipate many registrations, please do not call the office, but rather, email all inquiries to [email protected] and we will respond as we are able to.

Thank you for your continued support of BCFA.
